About Nora Castellanos
Editor, Robot Vacuum Atlas
Why I started
This site started with my parents. They wanted a robot that wouldn’t eat lamp cords or need an app every morning, and the reviews I found disagreed with each other in ways that took weeks to untangle. I ended up with a spreadsheet of lab results and manuals. Robot Vacuum Atlas is that spreadsheet, made readable.
How I research
I compare published results from RTINGS, Vacuum Wars, Consumer Reports, CNN Underscored, Tom’s Guide and TechGearLab, read manufacturer manuals and listings, and track long-term owner reports. I check whether a claim comes from a test or from a box, and I label it.
What I don’t do
I don’t run a test lab, and I don’t claim to have tested the robots on this site myself. When you see a test number, it comes from a published review, and I name the review it came from.
